Books and Such: J.K. Jones

For those who are interested in reading what J.K. is reading, he offers the following:

As far as books go, my top five dead guys* and their books include:

  • Thomas a Kempis and “The Imitation of Christ”
  • Madame Jeanne Guyon and “Final Steps in Christian Maturity”
  • Benedict and “The Rule of St. Benedict”
  • Patrick and “The Confession of St. Patrick”
  • Michael Molinos and “The Spiritual Guide”

My favorite contemporary theologian/writer is Eugene Peterson (here’s an interview with Peterson from the 2007 Writer’s Symposium) and my favorite novel among all that John Grisham has written is “The Testament.” Well, that’s some help, I hope.

*Listen to the second part of J.K.’s interview next week to hear him explain the significance of “the dead guys.”
